A recently built holiday complex is situated at the river's mouth. The complex includes restaurants, cafes, a disco club and a post office.

North of the river mouth there is a lovely beach strip with fine sands which is a favorite place for many people from Varna. The sea is more shallow and less salted because of the flowing of the river. The international E-87 road leads to the reserve. Among the forests there are a lot of asphalted roads,  small hotels, bungalow villages and camping sites. That is an ideal spot for town people to enjoy their vacation in nature. The resort offers romantic boat trips as well. At a distance of 11km from Staro Orqhovo is located the small sea resort of Shkorpilovtsi, just 100 m away from one of the most beautiful beaches on the Northern Black Sea coast. Shkorpilovtsi boasts plenty of quiet spots, soaked with tradition, where you will be able to enjoy the magnificent nature, virgin beaches, to immerse in the special atmosphere of Bulgarian customs.
